Short description
of the proposed topic:
Marine pipelines and
risers are critical
infrastructure for
transporting oil, gas,
and minerals, playing a
vital role in offshore
resource development.
However, their
performance is
challenged by harsh
marine environments,
internal flows, and
complex operational
loads. These factors
subject them to
substantial risks during
design, installation,
and maintenance.
Research in this area is
crucial for improving
the reliability and
efficiency of marine
pipelines and risers,
developing new equipment
and technologies, and
addressing environmental
concerns. This will help
ensure sustainable and
secure offshore resource
development in the
future.
Novelty and motivation:
As marine resource exploration moves into deeper waters and emerging deep-sea mining frontiers, high pressures, complex dynamic loads, and internal multiphase flow present new challenges to the design, integrity management, and operational safety of pipeline and riser. This session focus on emerging challenges of pipeline and riser in deep-sea resource development. It aims to provide a platform for scholars to exchange cutting-edge knowledge and discuss innovative solutions in the field of deep-water pipeline and riser engineering.
